Well, it's been a while since I posted anything. We stayed at Wayne's brother's house, in Cortez, CO for 16 days. We had such a great time. Wayne got to go Brookie fishing, and I got to go to the casino a couple of times. We got to spend some real quality time with Danny, Amy, Bobby, Marty and our 2 nephews, Dylan and Kooper. We haven't ever had an opportunity to spend that much time with the boys, and it was such a pleasure for us. We have great family in Colorado. We also had our friends, Mitch and Sue with us. We took a full day and just rode around up in the mountains and it was just simply beautiful.

We pulled out of Cortez on June 21st. We are headed to Chinook, WA to visit with Wayne's Uncle Gleason Wayne and Aunt Fern. He his Wayne's dad's only surviving sibling. We are really looking forward to seeing them.

We got as far as Provo, Utah, and decided to spend the night in the National Forest there. We started up this huge mountain with snow still on top of the peaks. The road was paved and everything was going great. Then..........the paved road turned to dirt about half way up the mountain. Then about 3/4 of the way up, it turned to rocks. I am not talking about gravel, I'm talking about rocks. There was absolutely no where to turn around with a 36' 5th wheel attached to us. Soooooo, we just went really, really slow. It took us about an hour to get to the campground.  We were about 7500' above sea level. We spent the night and got up about 6:00 this morning. About half way down the mountain, we had to pull over and stop for about an hour, because our brakes got so hot they were smoking. So, it took us 2 hours and 15 minutes to get Down That Mountain!! It was 39 degrees when we got up this morning. So, it was a little on the chilly side.

We finally got DOWN THAT MOUNTAIN, and headed out once again. We made it all the way to Twin Falls, Idaho by about 4:00 this afternoon. We are at a KOA park. It's real nice. They have a laundry room, so I got caught up on the laundry. They also have an outside cafe where we ate supper tonight. It was nice not to have to go anywhere to eat after spending almost 10 hours in the truck today.

We will pull out of here in the morning about 8 a.m. and try to make it to Boardman, Oregon tomorrow. Our neighbors here at the KOA just came from Washington, and they said this was an awesome park right on a river. We will probably spend 2 nights there to catch up on some rest. It will probably take us about 8 or 9 hours to get there.

We did make it to Boardman, Oregon. This has been my favorite campground so far. Right on the Columbia River.

This is the place we spent the night that took us up that horrible, horrible road. We were at the very top of the mountain, as you can see in this pic. We had to stop for over an hour to let the brakes cool on the way down. It was really scary.
